This is a site that will provide you with reports and images related to the threats that raptors are facing within the Scottish countryside today by criminals who are intent in causing them harm.
We hope to appeal to everybody; from those who are active in raptor protection and conservation to people who would like to learn more about the criminal threats that are facing birds of prey in Scotland today.
On our Eagle Eye page we also offer advice and guidance in identifying the various methods that criminals use to target and kill birds of prey as well as directing you to the people that can help if you do come across an incident which you believe may be related to raptor persecution.
We are an evolving and pro-active project and in the future we will be sharing with you case studies and presenting reports and images, written and obtained by ourselves, which will help to illustrate the disturbing realities of the crimes committed against birds of prey throughout the Scottish countryside. You will learn the contempt these criminals have for the law, the sickening disregard many of them have for wildlife generally and also how some are willing to put the lives of the public at risk in pursuit of their aims. Some of these studies will also include reports on how incidents of raptor persecution in Scotland are dealt with by the police and the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
In addition to our field work and as part of our ‘Community Awareness Initiative’ we will also keep you informed about our ‘on the ground actions’ that will follow incidents of raptor persecution uncovered by ourselves. This will include our ‘Speak up for Raptors’ whistle blowing initiative!
